Section 473 crpc of Code of Criminal Procedure 1973:-
Extension of period of limitation in certain cases . Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing provisions of this chapter any court can take cognizance of any offence after the expiry of the limit, if it is satisfied with the facts and the delay in the circumstances of the matter is properly explained. It is necessary to do this in the interest of justice.
