Section 469 of Code of Criminal Procedure 1973

CrPC Section 469- Commencement of the period of limitation:-

1. In relation to any offense, the period of limitation will begin,

 (a) On the date of the crime/offence; O

 (b) Where the crime was not known to the crime or the person suffering from a police officer, the kind of crime the first day comes for the knowledge of such person or a police officer, whichever is earlier; Or

 (c ) Where it is not known by whom the offence was committed, the first day on which  the offender is identified as a person suffering from a crime or a police officer to investigate the crime, whichever is earlier.

2. In computing that period, from which day this period should be calculated, shall be excluded.
